Halloween is creeping up on us quickly! It's one of my favorite holidays to decorate for, and like almost any decorating project, it includes a little DIY. This year's table includes a skull table runner. Wanna learn how to make it? Alrighty, then!
You will need:
a burlap table runner (mine was pre-cut & pre-hemmed)
Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium
a sponge brush
a pair or prints
scissors
and a wet cloth or sponge (not shown)
Let's get started!
First trim out your images. I used the skull found at The Graphics Fairy. I printed two on a page, using the 5x7 setting. Trim them out very close to the edges, and make sure that if you do use any graphic with words that you print them in reverse. (If you don't know how to invert them, I have a handy dandy tutorial to help you flip the images in seconds!)
Once you have the images trimmed out, cover them INK SIDE UP with Mod Podge Photo Medium Transfer. Use a good coat that covers the whole piece. I did this step on top of a piece of freezer paper for easy clean up.
Once covered, put it face down onto the fabric where you want the image. Go over it well using your fingertips and press it into the fabric, so it attaches to it. Set it aside and let it dry for 24-48 hours.
{Pssttt... go ahead and do both ends of the runner before you let it dry.}
Once it's all dry, wet the paper lightly with a damp cloth or sponge. You want it barely wet, but not saturated.
Now you're ready to set a spooky table! Pretty great results for about 10 minutes of hands on work, huh?
